Is there a diet involved in Freedom from Dieting?
Just as the name implies, there is not a specific diet. Tzabia will guide you to pay attention to the foods that make you feel good and give you energy as well as the ones that do not make you feel well. She will also educate you on what foods, as well as how and when to eat, to best deal with your physiological symptoms. Please note however, that the changes you make in relation to food will be done one-step-at-a-time and in accordance with what you are ready to eliminate and what you feel ready to add in. So it works with you, reducing resistance, and eliminating the all-or-nothing approach.
What philosophy of eating does Freedom from Dieting ascribe to?
If there is any philosophy, it is to eat as close to nature as possible, as there is more nourishment in the natural state. Given that everyone is biochemically unique, there is not one way of eating that works for everyone. However if you pay attention to your body's response to foods and you eat foods that are close to their natural state, positive shifts in your health happen easily.
Is there an exercise program that I have to do?
There is no particular exercise program involved. Having said that, your body is designed to function best when it has an opportunity to move every day. So with Freedom From Dieting, we will design a movement program for you that you enjoy and can incorporate into your lifestyle. For some people that means training for a marathon, for others it means dancing while they make dinner, and others it is just walking up and down the stairs to get to their office. The possibilities are endless.
Is Freedom from Dieting designed for people who have to lose any amount of weight?
The principles are the same whether you have to lose 5 lbs. or 200 lbs. However, the longer you have been carrying the extra weight and the more you have been carrying, the more your physiology, emotional connections and mental beliefs are identified with your size, so you will have more work to do and it will take longer.
Nothing has worked for me before. What makes this program different?
The focus on the six ingredients of vital health and sustainable weight loss - mind, emotion, food, movement, soul, and rest, as well as your personal physiology, give Freedom From Dieting a position that is more comprehensive and individual than any other program I have ever seen.
Are there types of people who are more successful at this?
Yes, there are. These people have created successes in other areas of their life, they understand that there is a connection between mind and body, and they know that losing weight for a lifetime is not just about food and exercise. They are at a point where they are not just wanting to lose weight, but they are committed to doing what it takes to make it happen. They are willing to give time, money and energy to creating change. And they value having the expertise of a coach, teacher and guide.
What would be better for me, the one-on-one coaching or the group classes?
If you are self-motivated, achievement oriented and/or work better with individual attention, one-on-one coaching would probably suit you best. That also applies if you have a busy and varied schedule and need the flexibility to book your sessions at different times of the week.
If you do best in a group setting, feel inspired by hearing other people’s experiences as well as sharing your own, would like the added support of a small group outside of the classes, and want to keep your costs down, then the tele-classes would be best for you.
What is involved in the one-on-one coaching?
It begins with a 2-hour Foundation Session, live if you are within driving distance to Toronto, by phone otherwise. Then you will have weekly 40-minute phone sessions, four per month for a minimum of 3 months. These sessions are to establish what you want, what your obstacles are, the tools and techniques to help you move through your obstacles, and the actions that you are going to take. You always leave the session with homework that you will do during the week to keep you moving forward. This homework could involve one or more of the six vital ingredients to health - mind, emotion, food, movement, soul, rest. Each week builds on the previous weeks, so that over time you are transforming through repetition (although it never gets boring as you can apply what you are learning to an endless variety of situations). Your goals in each of the six areas will be established during the Foundation Session, and your progress checked at 3 months to help determine the next steps.
By the end of the three months you will have an understanding of the foundations of the model, and will be applying them to one degree or another. How far along in the process you will be, varies from person to person. Some people are complete by that time and have either lost the weight that they wanted or have what they need to carry on by themselves. Others know that they are moving forward but need to continue being coached. The coaching time ranges from 3 to 12 months, with the average at 6 months.
Can you coach me if I live far away from you?
Tzabia coaches all of her clients by phone, so she can work with you no matter where you live. Working by phone makes it convenient for you as there is no travel time involved, and you can be in the comfort of your own home. If you have any reservations about working by phone, you can try it out with no obligation. Most people who have been hesitant about working over the phone find that after they try it, they realize that it works well. In fact many say that they now like it better than working live with someone.
What is the percentage of people who have lost weight and/or improved their health while working with you?
To date, 73% have lost weight in a sustainable way. Of the other 27%, 21% stated that they felt that they were healthier - physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. They also felt they had gained self-respect, inner peace and had more of the tools that they needed and felt more optimistic about their life. 6% were not polled.
What costs are involved?
The mission is to make Freedom From Dieting affordable to everyone. In accordance with that, a downloadable e-course and a book are in the works. In the meantime, workshops run somewhere between 34.00 (Cdn $) and up depending on where they are and who is running them, the tele-coaching course is 169.00(US $) per month, and the one-one-one coaching ranges from 195.00 to 395.00/month (US $) depending on the amount of time we are spending in each session. GST is extra for Canadian citizens. Prices are subject to change at any time.
Why do you charge US dollars if you are Canadian?
Tzabia coaches people around the world, including the US and Canada. The simplest way to operate when dealing with a product or service internationally is in US dollars.
