This is the page where I can share with you some of the websites, tools, books and music that have inspired me both personally and professionally, as well as sites that I often send clients and colleagues to. Check back often, as it will be updated as new ideas come in.
BOOKS
This is a small sampling of my library, including some books that have either had a profound impact on me personally or have provided excellent reference throughout the years of study.

The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle
‘Stay present in the moment’ is a call to become fully alive, awake to your senses. But how do you do it? This book is a guide. I found it transformative and remember the period that I read it as being a time that I was shifted into present moments in a way that has had a lasting impact. A classic of modern spiritual literature. There is also a workbook.

Anatomy of the Spirit by Caroline Myss, PhD
This book is an accessible journey into the nature of our human energy system. Whether you are new to understanding the chakra system and medical intuition or a seasoned veteran, Caroline Myss’s personal and professional experience is a fascinating read and offers support to all of the information that she presents. An important read if you need to understand the source of your personal power and the nature of physical, emotional and spiritual healing.

The User’s Guide to the Brain: Perception, Attention and the Four Theatres of the Brain by John Ratey, MD
This is the most accessible and broad ranging book that I have read on neuroscience research and functioning of the brain.

Love Yourself, Heal Your Life Workbook by Louise Hay
Louise Hay’s books and teachings have been around for decades. She is a master of beliefs create outcomes. I still use her book You Can Heal Your Life as a reference for the beliefs at the root of specific illnesses. Some of the work that I do with clients is gleaned from ideas in this book. If you are willing to do the work (which can be fun), this workbook can guide you in helping transform any aspect of your life that is not satisfying.

The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying by Sogyal Rinpoche
You don’t have to be Buddhist to glean the wisdom of what Sogyal Rinpoche teaches. It is wisdom for all. This book inspired me to live my life with greater compassion for myself and others.
|
  |
The Silence of the Heart by Paul Ferrini
A quiet and powerful book about living in grace, in attunement with your heart.
|
  |
Unlimited Power by Anthony Robbins
This man certainly doesn’t need any recommendations from me or anyone else to make his products known. He is his own walking billboard. However, I do suggest this book if you want an accessible understanding of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) and how to change your mind to create what you want.
|
  |
The Diet Cure by Julia Ross, MA
Don’t be dissuaded by the name of this book. It is not about dieting. On the contrary, it is a layout of the physiological obstacles that can keep someone from being healthy and/or losing weight. One of the best books I have seen for supplement and dietary recommendations for healing and creating vitality.
|
  |
Cracking the Metabolic Code by James B. LaValle, RPh, CCN, ND
Another excellent read if you are looking to understand the physiology of weight and metabolism issues.
|
  |
Healing with Whole Foods: Oriental Traditions and Modern Nutrition by Paul Pitchford
This was my food and healing bible for years. Although it offers an education in Oriental Medical perspectives on food and herbs, it is also a great treatise for any Westerner on using food as your source for healing (just as the title says). Consider it a lifetime reference book.
|
  |
Radical Healing: Integrating the world’s great therapeutic traditions to create a new transformative medicine by Rudolph Ballentine, MD
I love what this man is bringing to the world. He has written some other good books (Diet & Nutrition, Transition to Vegetarianism) but this one is a classic, a culmination of 30 years of western and eastern medical practice. Good natural medicine reference book.
|
  |
Conscious Eating by Gabriel Cousens, MD
A powerful book for understanding the spiritual aspect of food, and for a review and application of both ayurveda and metabolic typing. An important read for those serious about living a vegetarian, and particularly a living foods (eating only uncooked foods) lifestyle.

Mental and Emotional Well-Being
Hypnosis Downloads
www.hypnosisdownloads.com

Hypnosis has the power to change your thoughts, feelings and action at a subconscious level. I love this site for their professional, yet inexpensive offerings. I use some of the training that I got thru this company with my clients and groups.
Emotional Freedom Technique
www.emofree.com
This is one of the emotional release techniques that I use with clients. It is simple, easy to learn and do, and it works. I have experienced some phenomenal results using this technique.
Nutritional
The Food Coach
www.foodcoach.ca
My other website offering you nutrition programs and coaching for making health changes not necessarily related to weight loss. If you want to get healthy and you know that you need personal support to do so, then check this out.
Specific Health Questionnaires
www.wildrose.com/index_questionsheets.htm
I send clients here to fill out these symptom questionnaires specifically when I suspect symptoms of Syndrome X (insulin resistance) or candida (yeast overgrowth).
Life Extension Foundation
www.lef.org
an excellent site for the layperson for both research and protocols for nutritional supplementation. I have used their products personally and with clients with good results. Highly recommend.
Immunocal/HMS90
www.immunotec.com
I place a high value on integrity. So as a Certified Nutritionist I am a stickler for recommending products that are based on sound research and excellent manufacturing processes. This product is the only one that I have become personally affiliated with because of the research behind it and the results that I am seeing, personally and professionally. If you have any health concern that would benefit from an increase in immunity, and/or detoxification (which from my experience, is underlying many health challenges), then check it out. Unfortunately though, the website is not that informative, so if you want more info, feel free to contact me.
Advanced Orthomolecular Research
www.aor.ca
a Canadian nutraceutical company that offers good research information and good products.
Health and Physiology
Natural Hormone Replacement
www.johnleemd.com
Dr. John Lee did the decades of clinical research and lead the medical profession (those who were open to change) in the area of natural hormone replacement for women and men. This site is informative and action oriented. Worth a look if you are curious about another way to deal with endocrine changes.
Imbalanced Thyroid Function
www.wilsonssyndrome.com
For those of you who are showing signs of imbalanced thyroid function despite blood tests that show up normal, peruse this site. Important info to know about.
Soul, Spirit and Creativity
Spiritual Cinema Circle
www.spiritualcinemacircle.com
if you love films but would like to tap into a rich resource for uplifting ones, check out this site. Monthly membership will have you receiving a series of films each month.
Llewellyn
www.llewellyn.com

an interesting site for exploring books and other mediums, on anything that you wonder about regarding the spiritual realm. Also can get detailed astrological reports if that is something that would interest you. (A story here seems appropriate. I could see that my son Sasha who is now 17, could use some insight into his life. I had an instinct that I should take him to an astrologer, since I had done the same for myself at key points in my life, with great benefit. Sash came out of the session awed by a greater sense of purpose. He personally raised the bar of expectation for himself. Up until this year he struggled to pull off a 68 average, with an effort that he rated at about 30%. So far this year, he does on average 3 hours of homework per night (even Friday nights sometimes) and with effort at 100%. I won’t be surprised if his average is in the high 80’s or 90’s. He has a new found sense of his own capability because he found out there was a reason to apply himself. The astrology reading offered him an objective and wide viewpoint that he desperately needed. This is something that every teenager who is open to it, could benefit from.)
Art on line
www.art.com

If art appreciation feeds your soul, you may want to peruse this site. It is a wonderful place to look at art and the buying is affordable. Sometimes I go there just to explore different visual ideas and possible décor options for our home.
Creativity Camp
www.mindcamp.org
For those of you who can reach Toronto, there is a vibrant creative community here. Creativity Mind Camp is an annual 4-day creativity camp that happens, north of Toronto. I presented one of my Moving Space workshops at the conference this year. I will also be presenting Moving Space periodically at an Idea Tasting event that happens throughout the year. Check it out at the site above.
Eating and Cooking
www.whfoods.com - a small site with only healthy recipes. Most are doable within 30 minutes. The size of site makes it easy to navigate and choose.
www.mealsforyou.com - a great site for choosing recipes based on your specific criteria, whether it is the ingredients that you want, foods you have to avoid, the nutritional content that you are looking for, etc. Not all recipes contain the healthiest ingredients so be specific if you are choosing for health.
www.finecooking.com - for the gourmet amongst us, this is one of my favourite sites and magazines for finding recipes. Mostly I work from their recipe compilation books. All of the recipes that I have tried from them have been excellent. Highly recommend.
www.teainthesahara.ca - This company has a high quality selection of fine teas from around the world. My family and I have personally tried many. Aromatic and flavorful, we loved all that we tried. They deliver anywhere.
www.merchantsofgreencoffee.com - If you are looking to take your dark brew to another level of quality, consider roasting your own beans, and at the same time helping to sustain an ethical coffee industry. Merchants of Green Coffee deliver their green beans around the world. Want to know more, check out my article on coffee on my blog. www.freefromdieting.wordpress.com
www.slowfood.com - Founded in Italy in 1986, Slow Food is “an international organization whose aim is to protect the pleasures of the table from the homogenization of modern fast food and life. It promotes gastronomic culture, develops taste education, conserves agricultural biodiversity and protects traditional foods at risk of extinction.” My partner and I are members and we always enjoy the gatherings of the local convivial to engage in good food, wine and conversation.
Coaching and Self-development
Coachville
www.coachville.com

I could not have a resource page without including my favorite coaching site. Whether you are a coach or just looking for personal development, Coachville has some phenomenal courses and trainings, offered both live and via teleclass. Also a lot of free intro classes.
www.coachingtoys.com - I was not sure whether to include this in this section or the one on creativity. Check it out for its interesting ideas, tools and resources for working with clients or moving yourself through change.
Business and Marketing
Branding
www.essentialmessage.com
I worked with Michel Neray at Essential Message for four months. He delivered what he said he would, and I had fun doing it. If you need to get clear on your message, join in on a free teleclass, join the Bullpen or attend some of his workshops. Highly recommend.
Internet as Marketing and Selling Tool
www.ezinequeen.com
Man, does this woman know how to use the internet to sell. It is not my style but I send her kudos for all the money she knows how to make and she does it with a personal style. Cheers to the Queen.
Newsletter and Client Contact Management
www.constantcontact.com - This is the program that I have been using for over a year for staying in touch with my email list. It has worked well for me. No complaints. Easy to use, inexpensive, but limited. If you need greater capacity, check out the next recommendation.
www.easywebautomation.com - This is the company that I am using now that I need a shopping cart, autoresponders and other website automation. It offers lots of bells and whistles, including newsletter capability, but I am letting my web designer do the work so I cannot speak to its ease of use. It looks like I could figure it out easily enough if I had the time to play. Many entrepreneurs who market on the web use this company or another just like it, as it is a private seller of 1shoppingcart.com.
Marketing for Independent Professionals
www.actionplan.com - This is Robert Middleton’s website. He provides a comprehensive resource on marketing for Independent Professionals, including free marketing resources and valuable marketing tools. I have never used him but have heard good things.
www.michaelport.com - Michael offers his Book Yourself Solid Program, and has partnered with Mitch Meyerson to offer Traffic School and the one that I am doing, 90 Day Product Factory. The programs are effective, professional and offer great support. Michael is a lovable kinda guy. Highly recommend.
